Today, we will explore creative writing by thinking about our favorite animals. Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in a fun way. We will learn how to describe our animals using words that help others imagine them. We will also practice using punctuation marks like full stops and commas to make our sentences clear.

Let’s look at an example together. 'My favorite animal is a lion. Lions are big and strong. They have a golden mane and sharp teeth. Lions live in groups called prides.' Notice how each sentence gives us information about the lion. It uses full stops to show where one thought ends and another begins.

Now, let’s have a group discussion. I want each of you to think about your favorite animal. Share with your partner what it is and why you like it. Use descriptive words to explain its color, size, and what it eats. After discussing, we will come back together and share some of the ideas you talked about. Remember to listen carefully to your friends!

It’s time to write! On your own, write 3-4 sentences about your favorite animal. Use descriptive words and make sure to include correct punctuation. For example, start with 'My favorite animal is...' and then describe it. After you finish writing, draw a picture of your animal and label it. We will share our writings with the class later.
