Today, we will explore creative writing. Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings through words. We will start by discussing what creative writing means and how we can use our imagination to create stories. We will also look at how to use punctuation marks like full stops and question marks to make our sentences clear.

Let’s look at some examples of sentences. For instance, 'Ke rata ho bapala' means 'I like to play.' Notice how we start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. Now, let’s create a sentence together. If I say, 'Ke bona ngwana,' which means 'I see a child,' we can add more detail. What else can we say about the child? Maybe, 'Ke bona ngwana o motle' (I see a beautiful child).

Now, I will give you some words, and together we will create sentences. The words are 'mofuthu' (friend), 'bapala' (play), and 'ntle' (nice). How can we use these words in a sentence? Let’s try: 'Mofuthu o bapala hantle' (The friend plays nicely). After we create a few sentences together, I will ask you to share your sentences with a partner.

For your independent practice, I want you to write a short story about your favorite animal. Use at least three sentences and remember to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. Think about what your animal looks like, what it likes to do, and why it is your favorite. After writing, draw a picture of your animal and label it.
