Today, we will focus on listening and speaking skills. Listening is important because it helps us understand what others are saying. Speaking allows us to express our thoughts and feelings. We will listen to a short story and then discuss it together. Pay attention to the words and sentences used in the story.

Let’s read a short story together. 'The cat sat on the mat. It was a sunny day. The cat saw a bird and wanted to play.' After reading, we will talk about what happened in the story. What did the cat see? How did the cat feel? This helps us practice our listening and speaking skills.

Now, let’s have a group discussion. I will ask you questions about the story we just read. For example, 'What did the cat do?' or 'Where was the cat sitting?' I want you to raise your hand and answer in complete sentences. Remember to use punctuation when you speak, like pauses for commas and stops for full stops.

For independent practice, I want you to write three sentences about your favorite animal. Make sure to use correct punctuation. After writing, you will share your sentences with a partner. Listen carefully to your partner and ask them questions about their sentences. This will help you practice both writing and speaking.
