Let’s look at a simple story: 'Mokhulu o na le ntja. Ntja ea hae e monate. Ba etela lebitso la ntja.' This story has a clear beginning where we meet Mokhulu and his dog, and it describes the dog as nice. Notice how we use a full stop at the end of each sentence. This helps the reader know when one thought ends and another begins.

Now, let’s write a short story together. I will start with a sentence: 'Ke na le khomo.' (I have a cow.) What can we add next? Let’s think of something the cow does. How about, 'Khomo ea ka e ja?' (My cow is eating.) Let’s write this down. Remember to use a full stop at the end of each sentence. After we finish, we will read it together.

Now it's your turn! Write your own short story about an animal you like. Start with a sentence about the animal, then describe what it does. Remember to use proper punctuation. After writing, draw a picture of your animal and share your story with a partner. Make sure to check your sentences for full stops and spacing.
