Today, we will explore the world of creative writing! Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and ideas in fun and imaginative ways. We will start by discussing what creative writing means and how we can use our imagination to create stories. I will share a short story with you, and we will talk about the characters, setting, and events in the story.

Let’s read a short story together: 'Mma le Ntate ba na le ngwana yo o ratang go etela borai.' (Mom and Dad have a child who loves to visit the farm.) After reading, we will identify the main characters (Mma, Ntate, and ngwana) and discuss what happens in the story. We will also look at how the sentences are structured and where the punctuation marks are placed.

Now it’s your turn! In pairs, think of a story you would like to tell. Use the characters and setting we discussed. Write down your story in simple sentences. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and full stops at the end. After writing, we will share our stories with the class. I will help you with any words you find difficult.

For independent practice, I want each of you to write a short story about your favorite day. Think about what made that day special and include details about what you did, who you were with, and how you felt. Use at least five sentences and remember to check your punctuation and spacing. Once you finish, draw a picture that represents your story.
