Today, we will explore the world of creative writing. Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in a fun way. We will learn how to write short stories and sentences that make sense. Remember, using the right punctuation and spacing is very important in writing. Let's start by discussing what makes a good story.

Let’s look at a simple story: 'UThandi uyathanda izinja. Uthandi uthanda ukudlala nezinja zakhe.' This story tells us that Thandi loves dogs and enjoys playing with them. Notice how we use a full stop at the end of each sentence. This helps the reader know when one thought ends and another begins.

Now, let’s work together to create our own sentences. I will say a sentence, and you will help me add to it. For example, I say, 'UJohn uthanda ukudlala.' What can we add to this sentence? (Encourage students to suggest ideas and guide them to form a complete sentence with punctuation.)

It's your turn to write! Think of your favorite animal and write a short story about it. Use at least three sentences and remember to use full stops. After you finish writing, draw a picture of your animal. Once everyone is done, we will share our stories with the class.
