Today, we will look at some sentences and identify the punctuation marks used.
Let’s look at the sentence: 'Ngiyathanda ukudlala, ukufunda, nokubhala.' Here, we see a comma separating the activities. Now, let’s change it to: 'Ngiyathanda ukudlala. Ngiyathanda ukufunda. Ngiyathanda nokubhala.' Notice how we used full stops to end each sentence. This helps the reader understand that these are separate thoughts.
Now, let’s work together to create sentences. I will say a few words, and you will help me form a sentence. For example, if I say 'umntwana' (child), 'udlala' (plays), and 'ebhakedeni' (in the garden), how can we put these together? Yes! 'Umntwana udlala ebhakedeni.' Great job! Remember to use a full stop at the end.
