Phonics is the relationship between sounds and their written symbols. In Tshivenda, we have unique sounds that correspond to letters. Today, we will focus on the sounds of the letters 'm', 'a', and 't'. We will learn how to blend these sounds to form words like 'mat' and 'tam'.

Let's take the sounds 'm', 'a', and 't'. When we blend these sounds together, we can create the word 'mat'. If we change the order and say 'tam', we have another word. I will write these words on the board and we will sound them out together. This helps us understand how letters combine to form words.

Now, I will give you some letters: 'm', 'a', 't', 's', and 'e'. Let's work together to create as many words as we can. For example, we can make 'mat', 'sat', and 'eat'. As we create each word, we will write it on the board and say it out loud. This will help us practice our pronunciation and spelling.

For your independent practice, I want you to write three sentences using the words we created today. Remember to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop. After you finish writing, read your sentences to a partner. This will help you practice your reading and speaking skills.
