Today, we will explore the world of creative writing! Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in a fun way. We can write stories, poems, or even describe our favorite things. We will start by discussing what creative writing means and how we can use our imagination to create exciting stories.

Let’s create a short story together. I will start with a sentence: 'Once upon a time, there was a little bird who loved to sing.' Now, I will ask you to help me add to the story. What do you think the bird saw while flying? Let’s build our story together by adding sentences one by one, making sure to use punctuation at the end of each sentence.

Now, it’s your turn to practice! I will give you some words, and you will work in pairs to create sentences. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning and punctuation at the end. For example, if I give you the words 'cat' and 'play,' you might say, 'The cat plays with a ball.' After you write your sentences, we will share them with the class.

For your independent practice, I want you to write your own short story. You can choose any topic you like! Think about your favorite animal, a fun day you had, or a magical adventure. Write at least three sentences and remember to use proper punctuation. Once you finish, you can draw a picture to go along with your story. We will share our stories with the class at the end of the lesson.
