Today, we will learn new words that help us describe things around us. Vocabulary is important because it helps us express our thoughts clearly. We will read a short story together and identify new words. After reading, we will discuss what these words mean and how we can use them in sentences.
Let's look at the sentence: 'The cat is black.' Here, 'cat' is a noun, and 'black' is an adjective that describes the cat. We can change the sentence to 'The cat is white.' Notice how we replaced 'black' with 'white.' This shows how we can use different adjectives to describe the same noun.
In groups, you will receive a set of words and pictures. Your task is to match the words with the correct pictures. For example, if you have the word 'dog,' find the picture of a dog. Once you have matched all the words, we will share our matches with the class and discuss why we chose those pictures.
Now it's your turn to write! Using the new words we learned today, write three sentences. Remember to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop. For example, if you wrote 'The sun is bright,' make sure you have a capital 'T' at the beginning and a full stop at the end. After writing, you can illustrate your sentences with drawings.
