We will start by discussing what creative writing is and how we can use our imagination to create stories. I will share a short story with you, and we will talk about the characters, setting, and events in the story.

Let’s look at a simple story: 'A little bird flew over the big tree. It saw a beautiful flower. The bird sang a sweet song.' Notice how each sentence tells us something new. We will highlight the punctuation marks like periods and question marks. This helps us understand when to pause and when to ask questions in our writing.

Now, let’s work together to create our own short story. I will ask you questions about what we want to include in our story. For example, 'What animal should we write about?' or 'Where does our story take place?' As we gather ideas, I will write them on the board. Then, we will put these ideas into sentences, making sure to use proper punctuation and spacing.

It's your turn to be creative! I want each of you to write your own short story about an animal. Think about what the animal does, where it goes, and what it sees. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of your sentences and periods at the end. After you finish writing, you can draw a picture to go along with your story. Once everyone is done, we will share our stories with the class!
