Today, we will learn about creative writing. Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings through stories. We will start by discussing what makes a good story. A good story has a beginning, middle, and end. It also includes interesting characters and events. Let's think about our favorite stories and what we like about them.

Let's create a short story as a class. I will start with a sentence: 'There was a little bird who wanted to fly high in the sky.' Now, I will ask you to add a sentence. For example, 'The bird saw a big tree.' We will continue adding sentences together to build our story. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and a full stop at the end.

Now it's your turn to write! I will give you a picture of a cat. Look at the picture and think about what the cat might be doing. Write one or two sentences about the cat. Remember to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. After you write, we will share our sentences with the class.

For your independent practice, I want you to think of your own story. You can choose any character, like a superhero, an animal, or even a magical creature. Write three sentences about your character's adventure. Use your best handwriting and remember to check your punctuation. Once you finish, you can draw a picture to go with your story.
