Today, we will learn about the sounds that letters make in Xitsonga. Each letter has its own sound, and when we put these sounds together, we can form words. For example, the letter 'T' makes the sound /t/, and when we add 'a', we get the word 'ta'. Let's practice saying these sounds together.

Let's take the letters 'm', 'a', and 't'. When we combine these letters, we can create the word 'mat'. Now, let's write it on the board. Notice how we leave a space between each word. Can anyone think of another word that starts with 'm'? Yes, 'mama'! Great job!

In groups, you will receive a set of letters. Your task is to create as many words as you can using those letters. Remember to say the sounds out loud as you build the words. After 10 minutes, we will share our words with the class. Make sure to write your words down, and don’t forget to use spaces between them!

Make sure to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop. After you finish, read your sentences to a partner and check if they can understand what you wrote.
