In groups, learners will receive a set of picture cards. Each card has an image of an object, such as a 'dog', 'cat', or 'bat'. The task is to identify the beginning sound of each word and sort the cards into groups based on their initial sounds. After sorting, each group will share their findings with the class.

Now it's time to write! Each learner will choose three words from the sound sorting activity and write a sentence using those words. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. For example, if you chose 'cat', 'hat', and 'bat', you could write: 'The cat wears a hat and plays with a bat.'
