(The cat and dog are playing.) Write the sentence on the board and highlight the correct punctuation. Encourage students to read the sentence aloud, focusing on pronunciation and expression.

Provide students with a list of phonetic sounds and ask them to create their own words. Afterward, they should write a sentence for each word they created. Remind them to use correct spacing and punctuation. For example, if they create the word 'boom' (tree), they could write, 'Die boom is groot.' (The tree is big.) Circulate the classroom to assist students as needed.
