Let’s look at some examples of sentences. For instance, 'The cat is sleeping.' Notice how we start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. Now, let’s create a sentence together. If I say 'The dog is barking', can anyone tell me how to write it correctly? Remember to use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end.

I will read a short story about a day at the park. While I read, think about the main characters and what happens in the story. After I finish, I will ask you some questions. Be ready to share your answers and thoughts with the class.

Now it’s your turn to practice writing sentences. I want you to think of your favorite animal and write a sentence about it. Make sure to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
