In this lesson, we will practice reading short texts together. We will focus on reading with expression, which means using our voices to show feelings and emotions in the text. This makes reading more enjoyable and helps us understand the story better.

Let's read a short story together. I will read the first paragraph of 'The Happy Frog'. Listen carefully as I read. Notice how I change my voice when the frog is happy and when it is sad. After I finish, I will ask you to repeat after me, paying attention to how I express the emotions in the story.

Now it's your turn! I will divide you into small groups. Each group will receive a short text. Read the text together, taking turns. As you read, think about how the characters feel. Use your voice to show those feelings. After reading, discuss with your group what the story was about and how you expressed the emotions.

For independent practice, I want you to write three sentences about your favorite animal. Make sure to use correct punctuation at the end of each sentence. After writing, read your sentences aloud to a partner, using expression to show how much you love your animal. Remember to check for spaces between words!
