I will read a short story about a cat named Whiskers who loves to explore. After I read, I will ask questions like, 'What did Whiskers find on his adventure?' and 'How do you think Whiskers felt?' This will help us think about the story and share our ideas.

In small groups, discuss the story of Whiskers. Each student will take turns sharing one thing they liked about the story. Remember to listen carefully to your friends and respond to their ideas. After the discussion, we will write down one sentence about what we talked about.

Now, I want you to write two sentences about your favorite part of the story. Make sure to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and a full stop at the end. After you finish writing, pair up with a partner and read your sentences to each other.
