Let’s read a short text together: 'UThandi uyathanda izinja. UThandi unezinja ezimbini, uMilo noLulu.' After reading, we will discuss what Thandi likes and how many dogs she has. This will help us practice our speaking skills by sharing our thoughts about the text.
After reading the text, I will ask you some questions. For example, 'Yini uThandi ayithandayo?' (What does Thandi like?) and 'UThandi unani izinja?' (How many dogs does Thandi have?). I want you to raise your hand and answer in complete sentences. This will help us practice speaking clearly and using correct punctuation.
Now, I want you to write your own sentences about what you like. Use the structure we practiced. For example, 'Ndithanda ...' (I like ...). Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of your sentences and a full stop at the end. After writing, share your sentences with a partner and listen to theirs.
