For example, 'UThandi uyathanda ukudlala.' means 'Thandi loves to play.' Here, the sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.

Let's look at some examples of sentences: 'I see a dog.' This sentence tells us something and ends with a full stop. 'Are you coming?' This is a question, so it ends with a question mark. 'Wow, that is amazing!' This sentence shows excitement and ends with an exclamation mark. Notice how each sentence has a clear meaning and uses punctuation correctly.

Now, let's create sentences together. I will say a word, and you will help me make a sentence. For example, if I say 'umntwana' (child), you might say, 'Umntwana uyadlala.' (The child is playing.) Remember to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. Let's try another one: if I say 'ibhola' (ball), what sentence can we create? Encourage students to think and respond, guiding them to use correct punctuation.
