Remember, when we write, we need to use proper punctuation like full stops and capital letters to make our writing clear and easy to read.

Let’s create a short story together! I will start with a sentence: 'Once upon a time, there was a little cat named Mew.' Now, let’s add to the story. What do you think Mew did next? (Encourage students to suggest ideas.) For example, 'Mew loved to chase butterflies in the garden.' Notice how we use capital letters at the beginning of sentences and full stops at the end. Let's write this down together on the board.

Now, let’s practice building sentences. I will give you some words: 'dog', 'runs', 'fast'. How can we make a sentence with these words? (Guide students to form the sentence: 'The dog runs fast.') Great job! Let’s try another one. I will give you a new set of words: 'bird', 'sings', 'beautifully'. What sentence can we create? (Encourage students to come up with: 'The bird sings beautifully.') Remember to use a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end.

Now it’s your turn! I want you to write your own short story. Start with 'Once upon a time...' and think about what happens next. Use at least three sentences and remember to use capital letters and full stops. After you finish writing, draw a picture that goes with your story.
