Today, we will read a short story together. Shared reading helps us understand the text better when we read as a group. As we read, I want you to think about what might happen next in the story. This is called making a prediction. Predictions help us engage with the text and think critically about the story.
Let’s read the first part of our story. The story begins with a little boy named Sipho who finds a mysterious box in his garden. What do you think is inside the box? Discuss your ideas with your partner. After reading this part, we can share our predictions. Remember, there are no wrong answers!
Now, I will read the next part of the story. Listen carefully! After I finish reading, I want you to turn to your partner and share your predictions about what will happen next. Use phrases like 'I think...' or 'Maybe...' to express your ideas. After a few minutes, we will come back together and share our thoughts as a class.
