isiZulu Home Language - Term 1 - Week 4

Guided reading is a teaching approach where the teacher supports a small group of learners as they read a text. This week, we will read a short story together. I will ask questions to help you think about what you are reading. We will also discuss the characters, setting, and events in the story to deepen your understanding.

Let’s read the story 'Uthando Lwethu' together. As we read, I will pause and ask questions like, 'Who is the main character?' and 'What happens in the story?' After reading, we will summarize the story in our own words and discuss the main ideas.

After reading the story, I will divide you into small groups. Each group will discuss the following questions: 'What did you like about the story?' and 'How did the main character feel?' Each group will share their thoughts with the class, allowing us to hear different perspectives and ideas.

Now, I want you to write three sentences about your favorite part of the story. Remember to use correct punctuation at the end of each sentence. After you finish, we will share our sentences with a partner and check for correct spacing and punctuation.
