isiZulu Home Language - Term 1 - Week 5

Today, we will learn new isiZulu words related to our daily lives. Vocabulary is important because it helps us express ourselves clearly. We will look at words for common objects, actions, and feelings. For example, words like 'ibhuku' (book), 'ukufunda' (to read), and 'ujabule' (happy) will be introduced.

Let's take the words we learned and create sentences. For instance, using 'ibhuku', we can say 'Ngifunda ibhuku' (I am reading a book). Notice how we start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. This is how we write sentences correctly in isiZulu.

In groups, I want you to choose three new words from our vocabulary list. Create a sentence for each word. After you write your sentences, we will share them with the class. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. I will walk around to help you if you need it.

Now, I would like each of you to write five sentences using the new vocabulary words. Make sure to include at least one word from each category: objects, actions, and feelings. After writing, illustrate one of your sentences with a drawing. This will help you remember the words better.
