Let’s look at this sentence: 'uThandi uthanda ukudla.' It means 'Thandi loves to eat.' Now, if we want to correct it, we can add punctuation: 'uThandi uthanda ukudla.' Notice how the sentence is clear and complete. We will practice correcting sentences together.
In groups, you will receive a list of sentences with mistakes. Your task is to read each sentence and discuss with your group how to correct them. For example, if you see 'uSipho uthanda umculo' without a full stop, you will add it at the end. After correcting, each group will share one corrected sentence with the class.
Now it’s your turn to write! Think of your favorite food and write a sentence about it. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. For example, 'Ngithanda ukudla ujeqe.' After writing, pair up with a friend and read your sentences to each other. Check if you used punctuation correctly.
