Diversity means that there are many different types of people in the world. This includes differences in culture, language, beliefs, and abilities. Let's imagine a classroom where students come from different backgrounds. One student speaks a different language at home, while another celebrates a unique holiday. We can discuss how to include everyone in activities and respect their differences. For example, we can learn a few words in the other student's language or ask them to share about their holiday. This shows respect and helps us learn from each other.

In pairs, students will role-play different scenarios where they can practice respectful behavior. For example, one student can pretend to be new in class, and the other can welcome them and ask questions about their interests. After each role-play, we will discuss how it felt to show respect and what other actions could be taken to include everyone.

Each student will write down one small goal related to respect and diversity. This could be something like 'I will learn one new word from a friend's language' or 'I will invite someone different to play with me at recess.' After writing their goals, students can share them with the class, fostering a sense of accountability and community.
