Today, we will talk about different jobs that people do. A career is a job that someone does for a long time. Some people are doctors, teachers, or builders. Each job helps our community in different ways. Let's think about what we want to be when we grow up and how those jobs help others.
Let's look at some pictures of different careers. For example, here is a picture of a firefighter. Firefighters help keep us safe from fires. What do you think a firefighter does every day? Now, let’s look at a teacher. Teachers help us learn new things. Can anyone share what they like about their teacher or what they think is important about being a teacher?
Now, let's play a game where we act out different careers! I will call out a job, and you will pretend to do that job. For example, if I say 'doctor,' you can pretend to check a patient’s heartbeat. After each role-play, we will discuss how that career helps people and what healthy choices someone in that job might need to make.
Think about what job you would like to have when you grow up. Draw a picture of yourself in that job and write one sentence about why you want to do that job. Then, set a small goal for yourself related to that career. For example, if you want to be a teacher, your goal could be to help a friend learn something new this week.
