Imagine you have 10 cookies, and you want to share them equally with 2 friends. How many cookies will each person get? Let's work through this together. First, we divide 10 cookies by 3 people (you and your 2 friends). 10 ÷ 3 = 3 with 1 cookie left over. Each person gets 3 cookies, and there is 1 cookie that can be given to one of the friends.
