Now, let’s do a fun activity! I have a collection of shapes here. I want you to help me sort them into groups. We will create a group for triangles, one for squares, and another for circles. As we sort, let’s discuss the properties of each shape. How many sides does each shape have? How many corners? This will help us understand the differences between them.
For your independent practice, I want you to draw your favorite shape on a piece of paper. Label the shape and write down how many sides and corners it has.
