Today, we will learn about different religions around the world. A religion is a way that people believe in and worship a higher power or follow certain teachings. Some of the major religions we will discuss include Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism. Each religion has its own unique beliefs, practices, and symbols that help its followers express their faith.

Let's look at some symbols from different religions. For example, the cross is a symbol of Christianity, representing the sacrifice of Jesus. The crescent moon and star are symbols of Islam, often seen on flags and mosques. In Hinduism, the Om symbol represents the essence of the ultimate reality. By recognizing these symbols, we can better understand each religion's beliefs.

In groups, you will receive cards with different symbols and names of religions. Your task is to match the symbol to the correct religion. Once you have matched them, discuss with your group what each symbol represents and why it is important to the followers of that religion. Afterward, we will share our findings with the class.

Now, it's your turn to be creative! Imagine you have your own religion. Draw a symbol that represents your beliefs and write a few sentences explaining what it means. Think about what values are important to you and how you would want others to understand your religion. Once you finish, we will display your symbols around the classroom.
