Punctuation marks are important in writing because they help us understand the meaning of sentences. For example, a full stop (.) shows that a sentence has ended, while a question mark (?) indicates a question. Today, we will learn how to use these marks correctly in our writing.
Let's look at the sentence: 'Mma o ja borai' (Mother eats porridge). If we want to ask a question, we should change it to 'Mma o ja borai?' (Does Mother eat porridge?). Notice how the question mark changes the meaning of the sentence.
In groups, students will receive a short paragraph with missing punctuation marks. They will work together to identify where to place full stops, commas, and question marks. Afterward, each group will read their corrected paragraph aloud to the class, explaining their choices.
