Today, we will engage in shared reading, where we will read a short story together. Shared reading helps us understand the text better and allows us to make predictions about what will happen next. We will look at the title and pictures to guess the story's content before we read it.

Let's look at the title of our story: 'Mokhudu o etela ngwana'. What do you think this story is about? (Pause for responses.) Now, let’s look at the first picture. What do you think Mokhudu will do in this story? (Encourage students to share their thoughts.)

Now, let's read the story together. As we read, I want you to raise your hand if you have a prediction about what will happen next. After each page, we will pause and discuss your predictions. This will help us understand the story better and think critically about the text.

After our reading, I want you to write three sentences about what you think happened in the story. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. You can start your sentences with 'Ke nagana...' (I think...) to express your predictions. Once you finish, we will share our sentences with the class.
