Now, let’s change it to: 'The dog is barking.' Notice how we replaced 'cat' with 'dog' and 'sleeping' with 'barking.' This shows how we can create new sentences using different words.
In groups, you will receive a set of word cards. Each group will match the words to their meanings. For example, if you have the word 'happy,' you should match it with the meaning 'feeling joy.' After matching, each group will present one word and its meaning to the class. This will help us learn from each other.
Now it’s your turn to write! Using the new words we learned today, write three sentences. Make sure to use correct punctuation and spacing. For example, if you use the word 'sun,' you might write, 'The sun is bright.' After writing, share your sentences with a partner and check if they have used punctuation correctly.
