Today, we will explore creative writing by thinking about our favorite animals. We will discuss what makes these animals special and how we can describe them in our own words. Let’s look at some examples. If I say, 'The cat is fluffy,' I have used a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. Now, let’s create a sentence together. How about, 'The dog barks loudly'? Notice how we start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. This is how we write correctly in Sesotho.

In groups, choose your favorite animal and write three sentences about it. Remember to use capital letters at the start of each sentence and full stops at the end. After writing, each group will share their sentences with the class. Listen carefully to your friends and think about how they describe their animals.

Now, it’s your turn to write! Think of your favorite animal and write a short paragraph about it. Include at least five sentences. Make sure to check your punctuation and spacing. Once you finish, read your paragraph to a partner and discuss what you like about each other’s writing.
