Today, we will learn new words that we can use in our sentences. Vocabulary is important because it helps us express our thoughts clearly. We will read a short story and identify new words. After reading, we will discuss what these words mean and how we can use them in our own sentences.
Let's look at the sentence: 'The cat is sleeping.' We can see that it has a subject (the cat) and a verb (is sleeping). Now, let's change it to: 'The dog is barking.' Notice how we replaced 'cat' with 'dog' but kept the structure the same. This shows us how we can create new sentences using different words while maintaining proper grammar.
I will give you a list of words: 'bird', 'fly', 'tree'. Together, let's create sentences using these words. For example, we can say, 'The bird is flying in the tree.' Now, I want you to try making your own sentences using the words I provide. Remember to use correct punctuation at the end of your sentences!
Now it's your turn to write! Choose three words from the vocabulary list we discussed earlier. Write a sentence for each word. Make sure to check your sentences for correct punctuation and spacing. After you finish, we will share our sentences with the class.
