Let’s look at the sentence: 'motswana o a ja lebese' (The person is drinking milk). This sentence is missing a full stop at the end. The correct sentence should be 'motswana o a ja lebese.' Now, let’s add a comma to separate ideas: 'motswana o a ja lebese, o a bua le bagwera' (The person is drinking milk, and they are talking to friends).
In groups, you will receive a list of sentences without punctuation. Your task is to read each sentence aloud and decide where to place the punctuation marks. For example, take the sentence 'ke a rata go bala' (I love to read). Discuss with your group where the full stop should go and then write the corrected sentence on the board.
