Let's look at some examples of how to build words using phonics. If we take the sounds 's', 'a', and 't', we can blend them to create the word 'sat'. Similarly, combining 'c', 'a', and 't' gives us 'cat'. We will practice these combinations together and write them on the board.

In groups, learners will be given a set of letters. They will work together to create as many words as possible using those letters. For instance, if given 'b', 'a', 'g', they should be able to form 'bag', 'gab', and 'ab'. After 10 minutes, each group will share their words with the class, and we will discuss the meanings of any new words.

Now, each learner will write three sentences using the words they created during the group activity. They should remember to use correct punctuation at the end of each sentence. For example, if a learner wrote 'I have a bag', they should ensure it ends with a full stop. After writing, they will pair up and read their sentences to each other.
