For example, 'I love siSwati!' shows excitement, while 'Do you like siSwati?' asks a question. Proper spacing between words is also important to make sentences clear.
Let’s look at some examples of sentences. 'The cat is sleeping.' is a complete sentence that tells us what the cat is doing. Notice the capital letter at the beginning and the full stop at the end. Another example is 'What is your name?' This is a question, so it ends with a question mark. When we write, we must remember to use the correct punctuation and to leave spaces between each word.
Now, let’s practice writing sentences together. I will say a sentence, and you will repeat it after me. Then, we will write it on the board. For example, I say, 'The dog is barking.' Everyone repeats it, and then we write it down. After that, we will add the correct punctuation. Let’s try another one: 'I see a bird.' Remember to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
