Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and ideas in unique ways. Today, we will explore how to write short stories or descriptions using our imagination. We will focus on using correct punctuation, such as full stops and question marks, to make our writing clear and enjoyable to read.
Let’s look at a simple story: 'UThandi uyathanda ukudlala emhlabeni. Uthanda izinyoni nezimbali.' This story uses clear sentences and punctuation. Notice how each sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. This makes it easy for the reader to understand the story.
Now, let’s work together to create our own sentences. I will say a word, and you will help me build a sentence around it. For example, if I say 'imvula' (rain), you might say, 'Imvula iyawela.' (The rain is falling.) Remember to use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. Let’s create a few more sentences together!
It’s your turn to write! Think of a topic you enjoy, like your favorite animal or a fun day you had. Write 3-4 sentences about it. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. Once you finish, we will share our stories with a partner. This will help us practice reading aloud and listening to each other.
