Let’s look at a simple story: 'UThandi uyathanda ukudlala emhlabeni. Uthanda izinyoni nezimbali.' This story uses clear sentences and punctuation. Notice how each sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. This makes it easy for the reader to understand the story.

Now, let’s work together to create our own sentences. I will say a word, and you will help me build a sentence around it. For example, if I say 'imvula' (rain), you might say, 'Imvula iyawela.' (The rain is falling.) Remember to use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. Let’s create a few more sentences together!

It’s your turn to write! Think of a topic you enjoy, like your favorite animal or a fun day you had. Write 3-4 sentences about it. Remember to use correct punctuation and spacing. Once you finish, we will share our stories with a partner. This will help us practice reading aloud and listening to each other.
