Today, we will explore new words that help us describe our feelings and surroundings. Vocabulary is important because it allows us to express ourselves clearly. We will read a short story together and identify new words. As we read, I will ask you to listen carefully and think about what each word means.
Let’s look at some examples of sentences. For instance, 'The cat is sleeping.' Here, we have a subject ('The cat'), a verb ('is sleeping'), and we use a period at the end to show that the sentence is complete. Now, let’s create a new sentence together using the word 'happy.' What could we say? (Encourage responses like 'The child is happy.')
In groups, you will receive a set of words and pictures. Your task is to match each word with the correct picture. For example, if you have the word 'dog,' you should find the picture of a dog. After matching, we will discuss why each word fits with its picture. This will help us understand the meaning of the words better.
Now it’s your turn to write! Using the words we learned today, write three sentences in your exercise books. Remember to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with a period. After writing, draw a small picture that represents one of your sentences. This will help you connect words with images.
