Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in unique ways. In Tshivenda, we can use our imagination to create stories, poems, or descriptions. Today, we will focus on writing short texts. We will learn how to use punctuation marks like full stops, commas, and question marks to make our writing clear and interesting.

Let’s look at an example of a short text: 'Ndi na tshikolo. Ndi funa u shuma na vhana. Vhana vha ri na ndeme.' This text uses full stops to separate the sentences. Notice how each sentence expresses a complete thought. We will practice writing similar texts today.

In groups, let’s create a short story together. Each student will contribute one sentence. We will start with a simple idea, like 'A little bird flew over the river.' As we write, we will ensure to use punctuation correctly. After we finish, we will read our story aloud and discuss how we can make it even better.

Now it’s your turn to write! Think of a fun event that happened to you or a story you want to tell. Write at least three sentences about it, using correct punctuation. After you finish writing, draw a picture that represents your story. We will share our stories with the class at the end of the lesson.
