Notice how we keep the structure the same but change the subject and action. This helps us see how we can create different sentences using similar structures.

Now, I will give you a list of words: 'bird', 'fly', 'tree'. Together, let’s create sentences using these words. For example, 'The bird is flying in the tree.' Let’s come up with more sentences as a class. Remember to use correct punctuation at the end of each sentence.

On your own, write three sentences using the following words: 'fish', 'swim', 'water'. Make sure to use correct punctuation. After you finish, share your sentences with a partner and discuss the meanings of the words you used.
