Let's look at a simple story: 'One sunny day, a little bird flew over the trees. It saw a big, red apple on the ground. The bird was very hungry, so it decided to eat the apple. After eating, the bird felt happy and flew away.' Notice how each sentence has a clear idea and ends with a full stop. The story has a beginning (the bird flying), a middle (seeing the apple), and an end (the bird feeling happy).

Now, let's work together to create a short story. I will ask you questions, and you will help me build the story. What is the name of our main character? (Students respond) Great! What adventure does our character go on? (Students respond) Let's write down our ideas on the board. Remember to use full stops at the end of each sentence. After we finish, we will read our story together.
