Let's look at how to build a sentence. For instance, if I say 'The cat is sleeping', we can identify the subject 'cat', the verb 'is', and the action 'sleeping'. Now, let’s add punctuation. The correct sentence is 'The cat is sleeping.' Notice how we start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. This is how we write clear sentences.

Now, I will read a short story in Tshivenda. After listening, we will have a discussion. I want you to think about the main characters and what happened in the story. Once I finish reading, I will ask you questions like 'Who was the main character?' and 'What did they do?' Please raise your hand to share your answers. Remember to speak clearly and use complete sentences.

For this activity, I want you to write three sentences about your favorite animal. Make sure to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with the correct punctuation. After you write your sentences, pair up with a partner and read your sentences to each other. This will help you practice speaking and listening at the same time.
