Remember to use descriptive words to make your writing come alive!

Let's look at an example together. 'On my dream day, I would wake up to the smell of pancakes. After breakfast, I would go to the beach with my family. We would build the biggest sandcastle and swim in the ocean. In the afternoon, we would have a picnic under the palm trees. I would feel happy and relaxed.' Notice how I used punctuation and descriptive words to make my writing interesting.

Now, let’s brainstorm ideas as a class. I will ask you questions, and I want you to share your thoughts. What would you do first on your dream day? Who would you spend it with? Where would you go? As you share, I will write down your ideas on the board. Remember to think about using full sentences and correct punctuation when you speak.

It's time for you to write about your dream day! Use the ideas we discussed and write at least five sentences. Make sure to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and punctuation at the end. After you finish writing, draw a picture of your dream day to go along with your story. When you are done, we will share our stories with a partner.
