Grammar is the set of rules that helps us use language correctly. It includes how we form sentences, use punctuation, and spell words. Today, we will learn how to identify mistakes in sentences and how to fix them. We will also practice writing our own sentences correctly.
Let’s look at the sentence: 'the cat runned fast.' This sentence has a mistake. The correct form is 'the cat ran fast.' Notice how we changed 'runned' to 'ran.' Now, let’s try another one together: 'She go to school every day.' What is the mistake here? Yes, it should be 'She goes to school every day.'
In groups, you will receive a list of sentences with errors. Work together to find and correct the mistakes. For example, if you see 'He like to play,' you should change it to 'He likes to play.' After correcting the sentences, each group will share one corrected sentence with the class.
Now it’s your turn to write! Write three sentences about your favorite animal. Make sure to use correct punctuation at the end of each sentence. After you finish, swap your paper with a partner and check each other’s work for any grammar mistakes. Remember to look for correct verb forms and punctuation!
