Let's look at this sentence: 'the cat sit on the mat.' This sentence has a mistake. Can you find it? Yes! The verb 'sit' should be 'sits' because the cat is one. So, the correct sentence is 'The cat sits on the mat.' Notice how we also capitalized the first letter and added a period at the end.

In groups, you will receive a list of sentences with mistakes. Your task is to read each sentence and discuss what is wrong. Then, rewrite the sentences correctly on your paper. For example, if you have 'she go to school,' you should change it to 'She goes to school.' Remember to check your punctuation too!

Now it's your turn to write! Think of three things you did over the weekend. Write a sentence for each activity, making sure to use correct punctuation. For example, 'I played soccer.' After writing, swap your paper with a partner and check each other's sentences for any mistakes. Make corrections where needed.
