Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and imaginations. Today, we will think about what our perfect day would look like. We will use our creativity to write about our dream day, including what we would do, who we would be with, and where we would go. Remember, using correct punctuation and spacing makes our writing clear and enjoyable to read!

Let’s look at an example together. 'My dream day starts with a sunny morning. I wake up early and eat pancakes with syrup. After breakfast, I go to the beach with my family. We build sandcastles and swim in the ocean. In the afternoon, we have a picnic under a big tree. I feel happy and relaxed. This is my dream day!' Notice how each sentence has a capital letter at the beginning and ends with a punctuation mark.

Now, let’s discuss our ideas in small groups. Each student will share one thing they would do on their dream day. As you listen to your classmates, think about how they describe their ideas. After everyone has shared, we will come back together and talk about some of the fun things we heard. Remember to use complete sentences when you share!

It’s time to write! Take out your writing books and write a short paragraph about your dream day. Start with a sentence that introduces your day, then describe what you would do, who you would be with, and how you would feel. Make sure to use correct punctuation and spacing. When you finish, read your paragraph to a partner and listen to their dream day as well.
