Let's take a look at this short text: 'the cat sat on the mat it was very happy' - Notice that this sentence is missing punctuation. To edit it, we can add a period at the end and capitalize the first letter. The corrected sentence would be: 'The cat sat on the mat. It was very happy.' This shows how punctuation helps us understand the text better.

In groups, you will receive a list of sentences that are missing punctuation. Your task is to read each sentence aloud and decide what punctuation mark should be added. For example, if the sentence is 'What a beautiful day', you should add a question mark or an exclamation mark depending on how you feel about the day. After discussing, write the corrected sentences on the board.
