Let’s look at a simple example: 'UThandi uyathanda ukudlala emanzini. Uthanda ukwakha izinqaba zandawo.' This text uses full stops to separate the sentences. Notice how each sentence gives us a clear idea about what Thandi enjoys doing. We will practice writing similar sentences today.

In groups, let’s create sentences about our favorite animals. Each group will choose an animal and write three sentences. Remember to use punctuation correctly. For example, if your animal is a dog, you might write: 'Inja yami iyashaya. Ihlala endlini. Uthanda ukudlala.' After writing, each group will share their sentences with the class.

Now it’s your turn to write a short story about a day in your life. Use at least five sentences and make sure to include proper punctuation. Think about what you did, who you were with, and how you felt. After writing, draw a picture that represents your story. Be prepared to share your story with a partner.
